Great post. I agree we should use less.
We might also take a page out of the book of our grandparents who took pride in their ability to fix and re-use things, instead of tossing them out at the first wrinkle!
My husband is far from being a handy man (sorry love, but I AM still waiting for you to fix the bath tap) but he is always keen to take something apart to see if he can fix it...
At least he tries :)
